Things I Love Thursday

The Hipster Games - I might have laughed out loud at this.

If anyone wants to buy me these tattoo bandages, my birthday is in May. Thanks Justine!

Faces of Addiction - I told myself "I'll just look through a few of these," but couldn't stop.  So poignant and heart-wrenching.  Thanks to Nova for this.

If you haven't already seen it, Nova's post last week on not apologizing was fucking awesome.  We should all take it to heart, ladies (and token gentlemen)!

An old man's reaction to hearing "his" music.  This video was absolutely beautiful and had me in tears; such a powerful testament to the power of music.  If you look at no other link in this list look at this one. Thanks to my friend Myke for this.

Fallen Princesses.

Funny Underwater Dogs. Rob and I agreed that these photos are less "funny" and more "surprisingly terrifying."

This website has free paper toys you can print out and make! Neato.

8-Bit Movie Posters.

10 Examples of Easter gone Horribly Wrong on Facebook.

If you don't follow Suzy's blog, well, you should.  This post on blogging was particularly awesome.

I don't know if I want kids, and I go back and forth on it a lot, but if I ever have a kid I hope I can create a nursery as awesome as the one Sam has created. Nothing overtly gender-specific, just simple clean lines and awesomeness.

People who thought that the Titanic disaster was only a movie, not a real thing. FACEPALM.

Letters of Note - this is a cool blog that reproduces famous letters.  The most current one (as of this publication) shows a letter written from an 18-year-old Keith Richards to his aunt in which he describes hanging out with Mick Jagger.

These airplane lavatory self-portraits in the Flemish style totally cracked me up. Thanks Lauren!

The Big Caption, wherein jokes and statements are made in typography.

  4. i have seen the faces of addiction before, and like you mentioned, it was hard to stop looking. i'm so glad you posted the fallen princesses. i had seen the snow white one somewhere, but never any of the others.

also....the easter facebook statuses really made me laugh. a lot. just like we don't celebrate christmas with any religious connotations, easter is just for candy and bunnies. seeing people get all offended really brings out the LULZ.

    1. I had Fallen Princesses in my bookmarks forevs, finally decided to pull it out. It's so crazy how serious people get about holidays...for some people, Easter IS about the bunnies and the candy!

  5. Ha, The Hipster Games! That was hilarious until the end when he was wearing my same coat.
And I have met A LOT of people here lately who didn't realize the Titanic was real. There have certainly been movies I've seen and didn't realize were real until the end credits, but nothing as monumental as this... I remember doing a huge section learning about it in school, long before Leonardo DiCaprio had monopolized it!

    1. Haha whatever, I acknowledge that I'm kind of a hipster! :) And I can't even believe that there really are people who don't know about the Titanic. Maybe it's because we're 100 years out? Gah it's so awful and sad.

  7. I of course knew that the Titanic was real but I wanted to second the sentiment of "holly shit I am never gooing on a cruise" I have felt this way about cruises for a long time irregardless of any epic disaster that happens in years gone by.

I may have to kill you for linking up to that faces of addiction page because there goes my night.

    1. Have you read Tina Fey's book "Bossypants?" She talks about a pretty awful cruise experience. Not as bad as the Titanic, for the record.

      And you're welcome! ;)

  8. Also... I know irregardless is a controversial word. Let's discuss.... I like it, I use it. You?

    1. I am personally not a fan of "irregardless," but I didn't even notice it in your comment!

  9. The funny thing is I think I only use it while writing... if I am speaking I will say regardless. Hmmmm.....

I have not read "Bossy Pants" but it would seem that I probably need to. I have been on two cruises in my life and I have bad experiences to report from both. Ummmm, although drinking way too much is mostly my own fault. Mostly. But still! Cruises suck!
