Moving and Weekends and Dresses and Things

First of all, thank you for all of your amazing questions.  They are so amazing, in fact, that I think I will give a few of the more involved ones their own posts.  Fun, right? It'll be nice to have some blog post ideas ready and waiting.  If you still have a question to ask me, click here to access the post.

This weekend was, in a word, exhausting.  But in an awesome way.  My father and I drove to my sister's apartment in New York to help her move to Boston.  Keep in mind that this was the hottest weekend all summer so, needless to say, we were sweating buckets.  But since I haven't been to the gym in a little while it was definitely good exercise and it was made even better by spending time with my dad and sister (and my mom a little bit, too).  The pictures below were all taken after all of the moving, when we had a yummy dinner at P.F. Chang's along with plenty of drinks.  I'm sorry that the pictures are not of the best quality; all I had on me was my cell phone.

In other awesome news, I finally got myself an iPad.  I've been pining for one for a few months now (against all thoughts of practicality) and finally got the opportunity to take the plunge.  SO, iPad users, any must-have apps?  And does anyone have Instagram? If so feel free to follow me at tomakelovestay.

Anyway, I'm finally home now with Robbie and I took him out to eat at our favorite restaurant because I'm cool and nice like that.  And I like pomegranate margaritas.

And now, the closest I will ever get to a "what I wore" post.

I can only begin to list the many ways in which you could mock me in this picture.  Weird pose? Yes. Weird dress poof? Yes.  Awkward smile? Check.  Go ahead and mock, I won't be hurt.

For the record I have no problem with other people doing "What I Wore" posts...I just have a problem with awkward photographs documenting my awkwardness.

  1. What a fun weekend!! I love both of your dresses, no need to feel awkward. :) But gosh, I hate outfit posts. I totally know how you feel!

  2. I LOVE PF Chang's!!!
And quick question, does the iPad get Internet on its own, like a cell phone? Or does it require wireless like a computer?

  3. Oohhh... I've been wanting an ipad for sooo long. I can't convince myself I actually "need" it yet though. Eventually! :P And I hear ya about the "what I wore" posts. Not sure I could ever do one... lol Sea Marie

  4. Thanks ladies :) I definitely don't have anything against outfit posts...I just personally think that I am far too awkward to do them well, haha!

  5. I haven't found you the least bit awkward! You're very pixie-like, i think - you have an elegant cuteness about you - and more than that, you're always so well-spoken, and open in your posts. That's what keeps me coming back!

    I am (way) jealous of your iPad! And I'm looking forward to the answers to all our nosey questions in future posts :-}

  6. What a weekend to move...it was very very hot and I'm glad you survived it all! Ahhh Instagram is amazinggg and addictive. I don't really share pictures with people on there, but I'll look you up! I think my name is hollyjean331. And I love that dress on you, very cute! Why on earth would we mock you? You look great :) Embrace your awkwardness--you can't even tell you feel awkward in that photo!

  7. i think you look cute!

and i agree with you on the 'what i wore' posts. i really like documenting what i wear, because i think it inspires me to get a little more creative with my outfits. but do i feel like a total dork while taking pictures of myself? absolutely.

  8. I love that picture of you in a strapless holding a drink, so pretty!!! I have an iPhone but my best friend has an iPad and she's constantly recommending me the best games (her boyfriend also works at an Apple store so he's always in the know)... so if you want addictive games check out Tilt to Live (you can get a free version), Traffic Rush, Fruit Ninja, Plants VS Zombies, Doodle Jump (SO ADDICTIVE) and Tiny Wings. Those are my current faves! I don't have much else on my iPhone these days besides games... I'm strange like that. :)

  9. I think that your "awkward" outfit post is not so "awkward"!!! Haha. I've only done one before and I just think I don't like looking at a ton of bad pictures of me so who knows if I'll do one again. And can't believe you got an iPad!!! Oh let's be instagram friends!!! I'm ashleysloan7 :)

  11. You look adorable in that dress! I don't see any awkwardness :)
Sooo glad I found your blog! I have been reading your question and answer posts and I love them, they are such a wonderful way to learn about a blogger but also are great stories and lessons on life!
And for iPad apps, Blogsy is my favorite for blogging! Definitely worth the money! (I think it was $2.99)
I also love the Pinterest app, even though it's made for iPhone it still is a great app!
