My husband came into the bedroom this morning at around 6:30 with a big-ass grin on his face and said, "we killed Osama bin Laden." Then he told me that he was going to be bringing alcohol to class (this is usually what he does on Veterans' Day, since his university doesn't give them the day off) and that he may need me to pick him up later.
I told him that I would like nothing better. :)
I could tell that he was filled with so much excitement and so much pride for his country. He was set on joining the military prior to 9/11, but that date sealed the deal and truthfully changed the course of his life, and by extension, our life.
We are also thinking of the servicemembers still serving and their families, along with the families of the fallen.
I think I can sum up the words of an entire nation when I say:
Haha Nice! I just love when a South Park reference can say it all.
