What I'm Honestly Wearing Wednesday

Want to feel better about yourself today?  As always, I am here for you.

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

A few things:

1. I'm pulling out my shirt like that so you can't tell I'm wearing a bra.  Small boobs = braless pointy boob syndrome.

2. Yes, Vladimir Lenin is on my shirt.  I bought this t-shirt on the Arbat' in Moscow.  It's an old propaganda poster and has an excerpt from a Mayakovskii poem, "Lenin lived, Lenin lives, Lenin will live!"

2b. No, I'm not a Communist.

3. THOSE PANTS.

What are you wearing today?

What I'm Honestly Wearing Wednesday

Want to know what I'm honestly wearing [on] Wednesday?

The exact same freaking thing I wore on Tuesday. With a pink sweatshirt.

Don't forget to check out Maryam, whose layering is just too cute for words.

Feeling Off, the Future, Tattoos & Guest Posts

1. I've been feeling really off lately, which explains why I've been ignoring my blog the last few days.  I miss writing but I also feel like I'd have no idea what to write.

2. I've also been having a stressful few days.  Robbie and I are waiting to hear some news that'll affect how and where we live the next few years of our lives; I don't have to tell you that I don't deal well with the unknown and conjecture.  I want to be able to plan now.  Anyway, I'm hoping everything will be figured out by week's end and I can share everything with you guys.

3. I decided to get a Maine-specific tattoo in case we do in fact leave here soon.  I always figured we wouldn't be able to stay in Maine after Rob graduated because jobs are so hard to come by here, but Rob and I are very attached to our unpopulated little state.  Truth be told, the idea that our children (should we have them) will most likely not be from Maine weirds me out a little bit.  Anyway, the design that I think I've settled on is a Sailor Jerry-esque swallow modified to look like a chickadee holding a small banner with "Dirigo," the Maine state motto.  I got this idea from a girl I knew as a camp counselor and frankly I'm pretty excited about it.  I am also considering a moose silhouette, but we'll see.

4. I bet you were wondering what I'm honestly wearing today...well, I did not forget:

5. Rob and I are going to be away from December 17-21 and I was wondering if anyone was interesting in doing a guest post here on ye olde blerg.  Your post can be about anything.  If you're interested go ahead and send me an email at tomakelovestay at gmail dot com.

Have a great week all!

What I Honestly Wore Wednesday

Yep, it's that time again folks: the moment in the week where you get to feel superior about your fashion choices!

Without further ado, here is what I am quite honestly wearing today. I'm only going to subject you to one picture.

Photobucket

You see, today is sick day at the CaiRob (Roblin? Crob?) house.  Rob skipped classes this morning--though admittedly this could be more due to laziness than sickness--and I could hardly roll my ass out of bed at all.  I'm up, though, and this is what I look like.

Is there anything better than wearing bulky, shapeless sweatshirts when you're sick and cold?  I think not.

Also, I've had those sweatpants since I was maybe a sophomore in high school.  Notice the "Aeropostale" label? Yeah, I was pretty hip and brand-aware back then so...

Don't forget to visit Maryam to see her awesomely honest outfit and to link up.

Also, wanted to thank you guys for your comments on my last post...it's nice to be myself and still be accepted. You're all amazing!

What I Honestly Wore Wednesday

Two posts in one day?! What can I say, I'm snowed in in the middle of nowhere with no television and flickering internet.  Indulge me, if you will.

What I'm honestly wearing today (once I got out of the shower anyway):

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

I love this pink sweatshirt.  I bought it while working at a client site and it's the only sweatshirt that doesn't totally diminish my feminine shape and make me look like a boy.  Maybe because it's BRIGHT FREAKING PINK, I don't know.

The shirt underneath, I bought at Target years ago.  It was one of the maybe 4 shirts I had with me in Russia so that's what it makes me think of.  It's been at the bottom of my drawers for awhile and I've only recently put it back into circulation.  My main issue with it is the pit stains (yeah, I sweat a lot) but then I remember that I don't really care and slap it on anyway.

The wool socks are on loan from my stepmother.  Rob and I tried to walk the dog this morning in regular ankle socks and boots with sad results, so these have been keeping my feet warm.

And now, what I wore when we ventured outside to walk ze beast, and later to help my stepmother plow our road:

As a side note, if you want to borrow my dad's awesome boots I'm sure he'd let you if you ask nicely.

Make sure to check out Maryam's post as well!

What are you wearing on this extremely snowy Wednesday?

What I Honestly Wore Wednesday

So for the first time this Wednesday I actually photographed myself wearing pajama pants and a giant sweatshirt, which is what I usually wear, instead of jeans or a work outfit.  Today you are seeing the real Caitlin.

The really lazy one who loves to be comfy.

Try to contain yourselves:

Couple of things:

1. I thought of moving all the junk in our hallway, but that wouldn't be honest now, would it? My house is a mess.

2. If you can't read my sweatshirt, it says "Stewart/Colbert 2008." I bought this in 2006 and wore it all through college.

3. Those pants are wicked comfy.

4. That's my cell phone in my kangaroo pocket, not some weird square baby bump. HONESTY!

5. I'm still without my nice camera, so once again, apologies for the point and shoot photos.

6. Can you handle how sexy I am right now?

As always, linking up with Maryam today.

What did you wear today?

What I (Honestly) Wore Wednesday

If you haven't been following this lovely brainchild of mine (and also Maryam), essentially we are posting each Wednesday what we honestly wore on that particular day.  No concerns for vanity or pretty outfits, just plain old honest clothing and appearance.

Of course this was much more relevant for me when I was working from home.

Now I'm at a client site (at least for this week) and my outfits are [insert huge sigh] work appropriate.  But usually I can still pull the lazy card with my work outfits, it's just slightly harder to see.  This is me at work:

Photobucket

Why this outfit still counts as lazy:

1. You all know of my self-professed hatred of ironing.  This shirt I'm wearing never has to be ironed.  It's amazing.

2. When I wear this shirt I think of the time that I may have encountered bedbugs in a hotel I stayed at.  Mercifully the bedbugs didn't follow me home but this shirt had to be dry-cleaned (paid for by the hotel, of course) and hasn't really worn the same since.

3. The shirt is a wee bit too short so if I bend over or crouch (this happens a lot at my job as we are constantly searching for outlets to plug in our laptops) my lower back tattoos will show, sometimes creating awkward situations with clients (but mostly just curiosity).

4. The sweater I'm wearing? I bought it at Old Navy a year or so ago and use it with every single outfit I wear to work to hide my arm tattoos.  This sweater has a sizable hole in one of the armpits yet I continue to wear it and just can't be bothered to spend $19.99 on yet another work cardigan.

5. The pants I'm wearing, which you cannot see, also never need to be ironed.  Thank you, Express! I simply lay these puppies flat on a chair or over some surface and they don't require any work at all.

6. I still have two shirts in my hotel closet that have seen an iron once and have been worn a total of once each because they are quite simply too much work. I wear this shirt in this picture an average of 2-3 times per week.

7. I'm staffing an open lab this week at the client site and it has been pretty quiet.  That's why you get an iPad picture.

What are you honestly wearing this Wednesday?

And make sure to check out Maryam's feature. :)

AHHH and did I mention that I'll be leaving for home the day after tomorrow? I won't actually be home until Saturday morning but still! I am sooo close!  Exclamation points!!!! Extra letters!!!!! Italics!!!!!

What I (Honestly) Wore Wednesday

So I am linking up once again with Maryam from Pamplemousse on our new link-up party, "What I (Honestly) Wore Wednesday."

I want to apologize for not participating last week...as I mentioned in my previous post it was a pretty insane week all around and I felt like I could barely function let along blog.  I'm sure you all missed seeing my awesome outfits.

Basically the goal of the link-up party is to show what we are honestly wearing on a Wednesday.  I typically work from home so usually I'm doing well to wear pants on a given day.  This week, however, I'm on a client site, which means I have look somewhat decent (boo).

So, behold, the outfit I wore to work today:

Photobucket

I know, I know...this outfit is actually halfway decent and not akin to pajamas.  However, I promise you that this still counts as an honest post for the following honest reasons:

1. I hate ironing.  Even though it takes a total of about 10 minutes it drives me absolutely insane.  As a result I have a nice stock of clothes that don't generally require ironing, such as this sweater, and I generally just keep recycling those outfits over and over.  This is outfit one of three that I do this with.  I have two other shirts and another pair of pants, but they all have required ironing and I just can't get up the energy to do so.

2. The undershirt I'm wearing has doubled my pajama tank top for the last few days.

3. My fly was totally unzipped for this mini-photo sesh.

4. I was straight out of the shower with no makeup or spectacles.

5. My camera is dead so you get a grainy cell phone photo.  What's lazier than that?

So see? I'm still the same old lazy Caitlin.

You should go link up at Maryam's blog!  She hasn't seen as much participation as she would've liked and I'd love to see this keep going :)

What I (Honestly) Wore Wednesday

A couple of times I've done an "honest" wardrobe post since let's face it, when you work from home sometimes you hardly come close to dressing yourself in cute outfits.  My good blog-friend Maryam over at Pamplemousse suggested that we do a link-up showing the honest outfits we wear on a daily basis.  As Maryam says, "All these What I Wore Wednesday and Stepping Out Saturday posts are wonderful but isn't it nice to see what we all wear on a normal basis?" And I know so many of you want to run away screaming from enjoy my honesty, so here goes: What I (Honestly) Wore Wednesday.

Today's selection of clothing was even more dismal than usual, since my bag is packed for a month in Arizona.  Basically I picked the jeans that fit me the worst, the first shirt I found in our mountain of unfolded laundry, and my ubiquitious comfort sweatshirt.  Since I did this on the fly I didn't pick a particularly attractive corner in my house nor did I put on make-up, so you are getting the real thing baby. Behold:

What is that giant thing in the corner, do you ask?  Why that is merely our old rug, which we placed in the corner when we got our new rug two weeks ago because we were too lazy to take it up to the attic.

You like?

I call this one, "Sometimes a lady likes to leave her blazer on."

Go over to Maryam's blog and link up to this funnery! You know you want to, pajama-clad bloggers of the world!
